Jerry Smith first visited (surfed) here in 1973. He was a founding board member of what is now known as the Global Association of Realtors (GAR). Jerry was also the first Vice-Persident and founding member of Association for the Betterment of Tamarindo (APMT) and is currently on the board of directors for the third time. He is the father of three children born in Costa Rica and Tamarindo is his permanent home. His father was a best selling author, economist and investment counselor, who ingrained in him the principals of sound investing and the fiduciary responsibility of providing investment (real estate) advice.
His philosophy is to educate his clients about living & investing here in Costa Rica, imparting valuable information first, before selling property. Whether you seek a retirement destination, vacation retreat or a sound investment opportunity, his reputation for straightforward advice, based upon almost 35-years of experience in Costa Rica, shall prove invaluable to you.
Tamarindo Real Estate was founded in 1989 by Jerome (Jerry) Smith, Jr., from San Diego, California. It is the oldest real estate office in Tamarindo and has an intimate knowledge of the properties throughout this northern region. We view our services as advisory and consultancy rather than exclusively as property sellers. We conduct our business as facilitators, buyer’s agents, rather than seller’s agents. As a client of Tamarindo Real Estate, our services do not end at closing; we are available to assist and advise our clients on residency, banking, construction, and with their other needs.
